You ever had one of those wild, sprawling weekends where time just blurs and you can’t tell where one night ends and the next begins? Everything seems to go your way. You feel good, you look good, and everyone is treating your right. Well, that’s been this weekend for me.
And the whole things started when a buddy needed someone to talk to. That led to a hot tub party and that led to… well a whole lot more.
I thought I knew James, he’s on my wrestling team, and we’d spent enough time together for me to think I had a handle on what kind of guy he was, and why kind of home he came from. I was wrong. Honestly, it turned out to be a bigger surprise than I could have imagined! Once I got to know him and his dad better, I realized you couldn’t really know people until they showed you who they were.
Brent, Todd, and Alan were there too. Good guys. Also guys I didn’t know well. We were on the same team, but we didn’t hang, until now. That’s when I discovered we were all on the same but different team. Maybe that’s why James invited me. This little exclusive club of theirs.
We had such a good time on Friday night, James invited us to stay for the weekend. Saturday we spent lounging around the pool and enjoying each other’s company.
I have to admit, I got to know James’s dad, Mr. Harrison, quite a bit too, and there was this one personal spot of his that added a little extra flavor to our time together—something that made me laugh and still couldn’t quite wrap my head around, but honestly, it was part of the fun.
As the weekend rolled into Saturday night, we were all ready to head out and have a good time. We piled into a party van driven by this sexy guy who looked so professional in his chauffeur uniform. Turned out he looked pretty good out of it too. We eventually made it the race track where the vibe was pure energy.
I had no idea how to bet on the horses, but then I hit a trifecta or something like that. I don’t know, but I ended up with a couple thousand bucks in my pocket. Beginners luck. Maybe I’d finally have enough money for the upcoming ski trip with Steve and Eric.
But then things got even more interesting. Alan and I got sidetracked, wandering into a casino looking for some handsome daddies to chat with. I met Josh—around forty, easygoing and easy to talk to. It felt comfortable right from the start. He eventually took me the sportsbook—if you don’t know what that is, don’t worry, I didn’t either.
Then, just like that, I found myself under the table.
And things were about to get interesting.
